SYMS Freight Routing Guide

Effective March 1, 2004

To: All SYMS Vendors New Freight Routing Guide
Effective immediately, the following revised routing instructions are to be adhered to for all inbound collect (SYMS PAYS) shipments sent to our Secaucus, NJ or any of our store locations. This guide is to be followed without exception. Failure to do so will result in a chargeback.
Garment on Hangers (Open Truck Hanging)
From - NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA, MA All merchandise with the exception of men’s sportcoats, men’s suits, men’s overcoats, men’s raincoats and ladies dresses.
The designated carrier is - NRT/WALSH (201) 863-3200/(856)/764-4180 Be specific On description and quantities when preparing BOL – EX: ladies skirts, pants, blouses
From - NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, MA All men’s sportcoats, men’s suits, men’s overcoats, men’s raincoats and ladies dresses.
The designated carrier is – DYNAMIC EXPRESS (973) 344-6300 X301 OR (800) 722-2987 Be specific on description and quantities when preparing BOL – EX: men’s suits, pants, sportcoats
From - Southern California All hanging merchandise
The designated carrier is - DYNAMIC EXPRESS (310) 669-2665 Be specific on description and quantities when preparing BOL - EX: men’s suits, ladies dresses.
From - FL, GA, SC, NC, AL, TN, KY, VA All hanging merchandise
The designated carrier is - DYNAMIC EXPRESS Florida (305) 836-3334
All other states (800) 722-2987 Be specific on description and quantities when preparing BOL - EX: ladies skirts, pants, blouses.
From - CANADA (MONTREAL) All hanging merchandise
The designated carrier is P&B TRANSPORT Montreal (514) 385-0844
All full and 3/4 loads of open truck hanging must be called in to our Traffic Department for special routing. Call Traffic at (201) 902-9876 between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
CARTON FREIGHT (FLAT PACK)
All shipments of 5 cartons or less weight not exceeding 99 lbs.
The designated carrier is – FEDEX GROUND
All shipments exceeding 7000 lbs. or 1,700 cubic feet
Contact Syms Traffic Department for specific routing instructions at (201) 902-9676 between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
All shipments 100 to 6999 lbs. Use the route matrix on the reverse side.
This routing guide covers all inbound Syms pays collect freight shipments for cartons and open truck hanging. All prepaid (vendor pays) shipments can be routed through your house carrier and delivered with a delivery appointment. Call our Receiving Department at (201) 902-9676 between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Any shipping points not covered under this routing guide please contact our Receiving Department at (201) 902-9676 between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

LTL freight routings: 100 to 6999 lbs. to Secaucus, NJ
This letter covers all inbound SYMS pays collect freight shipments. All shipments exceeding 7,000 lbs. or 1,700 cubic feet must be called in to our Traffic Department at (201) 902-9676 for special routing. (Between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM).

When tendering multiple purchase orders or shipments on a given day, a master or single Bill of Lading must be prepared for the carrier. Do not issue multiple Bills of Lading for the same day. This will result in a chargeback in the difference of freight charges. Also prepare cartons to be shipped in uniform boxes and tape. Failure to do so may result in a signature exception.
